    Food Court

    AUA’s food court provides a variety of healthy, wholesome options to keep you energized and focused throughout the day. Here you can find anything from Subway® sandwiches to Mama Lolly’s, a local favorite best known for its vegetarian dishes.  Whether it’s gelato, salad, or roti, the Food Court has something for you.

    Health Clinic

    AUA students, faculty, and staff can use the on campus health clinic for their medical needs. The clinic demonstrates the institution’s commitment to the welfare of the AUA community by providing convenient access to quality medical care. The clinic provides: counseling services, routine medical care and screenings, vaccinations, blood tests, and electrocardiograms.

  • Cardiology Interest Association (CIA)

    The Cardiology Interest Association’s (CIA) mission is to create an environment where medical students passionate about Cardiology can come together to learn more about this field.  CIA aims to build a strong community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about gaining a broader understanding of various medical specialties. The club is open to members from pre-med all the way to BSIC semester. CIA is actively pursuing expansion into clinical rotations and beyond. It’s vision for members is to empower our members to excel in Cardiology, participate in research related to the field of Cardiology and gain valuable insights by engaging with experienced practicing Cardiologists, and actively promote heart-healthy lifestyles through community outreach programs and events.

    Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG)

    The Emergency Medicine Interest Group consists of students with and without past experience in the emergency services (EMTs, Paramedics, RNs, etc.) Members with experience share their knowledge in hands-on training in an effort to maintain and expand their understanding of these specialties. EMIG works with AUA’s Emergency Medicine Training Center (EMTC) to offer EMIG student support in the center’s training activities.  Monthly events include training in suturing, IV blood draws, intubations, and more.

    OB/GYN Interest Group (OBGIG)

    OBGIG’s mission is to educate students and the Antiguan community about women’s reproductive health, pregnancy and labor/delivery. OBIG raises money for organizations like the March of Dimes and for women’s shelters in Antigua, and runs suturing clinics (which include information on cesarean sections. Future plans include simulated or even live birth viewings. Participating in this group is a great opportunity for medical students to make connections and expand their knowledge of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

    Oncology Interest Group (OIG)

    OIG spreads awareness about cancer to the community and engages in cancer research. This club is not limited to those exclusively interested in the field of oncology. Any student who wants to be involved in making an impact on the community is welcome to participate.

    Radiology Interest Group (RIG)

    RIG is dedicated to educating members about the field of radiology, enhancing anatomical knowledge through radiologic images, improving diagnostic capabilities, and emphasizing the central role of imaging and radiologic intervention in patient care. RIG provides peer mentoring and a supportive learning environment for our members.

    Sports Medicine Physician Interest Group (SMPIG)

    SMPIG members are aspiring sports medicine physicians who gain valuable insight into the roles, responsibilities, and knowledge base required to specialize in this area. They have access to resources that enhance their ability to learn these fundamentals, and gain practical experience through workshops and community outreach activities.

    Surgery Interest Group (SIG)

    The Surgery Interest Group is an organization made by students for students that share the interest of pursuing a career in surgery. SIG not only provides resources and skills for future surgeons but also the opportunity for all students from different backgrounds and interests to join and learn skills that would benefit them in their medical journey. Just as in the operating room, SIG aims to foster a spirit of teamwork and education through fun, skills-centered events. They are looking forward to welcoming new and returning members to their famous suturing workshop!
